The department of Mechanical Engineering was started since inception of the institution. Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline that involves application of principles of analysis, design  , manufacturing and maintenance. It is one of oldest and most essential branch of engineering. The department has well developed laboratories equipped with latest instruments. The major laboratories are Heat Power Lab., Fluid Mechanics Lab.,Hydraulic Machinery Lab., Theory of Machine and Masurement Lab.,Mechanical Engineering Drawing Lab., CAD/CAM Lab., Material Testing Laboratories. 

The institution has a well equipped workshop consists of Machines Shop, Welding Shop, Fitting Shop, Black Smith Shop, Carpentry Shop for training of Students
