The department of Civil Engineering was started since inception of the institution. Civil Engineering, the profession of designing and executing structural works thats serve the general public, such as dams, bridges,highways, power plants, sewerage systems and other infrastructure.   The major laboratories are Transport Engineering Lab., Material Testing Lab., Surveying Lab., Civil Engineering Drawing Lab., Geo Technical Engineering Laboratory.

These laboratories are fully equipped with various modern sophisticated equipments such as Total Station, Digital Thedolite, Compression Testing Machine, Universal testing Machine. NDT Machine like rebound hammer and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Machine, Los Abrasion Testing Machine, Bitumen Extractor, Auto Level, Water Content Apparatus etc.
