Skill Development & Technical Education Department of the Government of Odisha started this polytechnic in the year 2017-18 with approval of AICTE, New Delhi. With affiliation to the State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Odisha; it has 3 Year courses on Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering branches.

The students given admission are being selected through Direct entry through online fill-up of forms.

The minimum eligibility for admission is a pass in Higher Secondary Certificate from Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or pass in equivalent certificate such as C.B.S.E,New Delhi, I.C.S.E,New Delhi and other equivalent Boards.

The Admission process starts from the next day after the publication of HSC examination results. Advertisement to this effect will be given in local daily news papers. Students have to go through the “Information Brochure” available in the website before submitting the online applications for admission.
